VETERANS FARMSTEAD

The Veterans Farmstead is a Non-Profit farm and healing space for veterans and service members facing service connected challenges.  Many service members find it difficult to reintegrate back into society, feeling lost, helpless and disconnected.  Service related complex PTSD, TBI, traumas and stress have created family confusion, homelessness, isolation and suicide.  Reconnecting Service members to Nature through sun, soil and ancestral foods have proven to help ease mental health challenges, find a new purpose and becoming part of a peer supportive community.  This nontraditional, innovative approach in a non-clinical environment provides our services members the tools to help manage the challenges they may face today and in the future without judgement, with dignity and with respect.  

Our Approach

Our collaboration with The Veterans Farmstead goes beyond sourcing—it's an active partnership that nourishes both pets and people. By incorporating their thoughtfully grown ingredients into our recipes, we support a healing space that restores purpose and community for veterans. Every bag made with their produce helps sustain trauma‑informed programs and strengthens the local food system we all rely on.

Our process is simple and thoughtful.


At Charlie’s Learning, we believe whole, natural ingredients make for healthier pets and stronger communities. Partnering with The Veterans Farmstead, we source eggs, vegetables, chicken, and carefully selected herbs grown and raised with care—minimizing processing, pesticides, hormones, and fillers—so our recipes support steady energy, clearer cognition, and better weight and mood. We honor simple, transparent sourcing—thinking like food producers of the past while applying modern quality controls—and every bag helps nourish dogs and sustain a veteran healing program rooted in dignity and community.
